Birthday Cake

Here is Shannon diving into her birthday cake. Steve was in charge of picking up the cake and buying the candle. Notice how cute the candle is.

Our Big Girl

Froggy

Steve and Mariah caught a little frog in our back yard. Mariah was totally in love with it. Whenever it would hop out of her hands, Steve taught her to follow it untill he could come catch it for her. So, imagine this cute little girl running after the frog each time it hops stressed that her Daddy might not be able to catch it before she looses sight of it. Cute girl.

Gobble Gobble

Mariah's pre-fun preschool class did a Thanksgiving presentation for their parents. The children recited a poem, sang a song, and told us what each of them were thankful for. Mariah's list of things she was thankful for consisted of Mommy, Daddy, Sadie, a whole bunch of different animals, and lastly, Shannon. It was funny. During the song, Mariah sang "Gobble, gobble, gobble, gobble" all by herself. I thought she had a solo but found out later that the other children were suppose to sing it with her. Our girl LOVES to sing. The program was darling.

It was a hall, and now ...a half-wall

My brother, Wayne, came to visit us when we first moved to Rocklin. We felt something wasn't right with a hallway in our house, he suggested a half-wall. Well, Steve and I had talked about it a bit and thought we would love to make it a half-wall sometime in the future. One morning I went to help at Mariah's preschool for an hour. When I came back, the top two pictues is what I found! Yes, Steve cut a hole in the wall! Oh, and I won't get started about the ENDLESS dust! Luckily my wonderful husband is quite the handy man and made the hole look beautiful.

Decorating the Tree

Mariah, Shannon, and I decorated the tree this year. Mariah would repeatedly say, "Mommy, I just love decorating the tree. Decorating the tree is so much fun!" Christmas is the best with children! Shannon enjoyed taking the lower decorations off the tree as we were putting them on. She never wants to be left out. Mariah had the hardest time waiting for Daddy to get home to see him put the star on the top of the tree. I think she probably asked me thirty times when Daddy was going to be home so she could "help" him put the star on. I love Christmas and the sweet spirit it brings into our home.
